Owner Alexa tying the Isla Bandeau bathing suit top in ghost petal color on a model

A friend recently shared that she celebrates wrinkles and stretch marks because they are evidence of a life well lived I love this sentiment.

As women, we're extremely tough on ourselves. So many are self conscious in swimwear or critical of their appearances— but I designed these garments to fit real bodies and I hope to inspire women to feel confident in them. I've learned the hard way that life is short, I don’t want to not live it to the fullest, and for me that includes wearing my bikini on the beach. I think it's important to demonstrate confidence in front of my kids so that they grow up to be confident too. I want to show them how amazing our bodies are— mine survived multiple spine surgeries and carried two children! I don’t want to miss a single minute because I’m afraid to participate. I want to build sand castles and teach my kids to body board (in my swimsuit!) I want to enjoy a grilled cheese and curly fries (from Martha’s 22nd Street Grill, obviously) with my babies. I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my shoulders and keep a bikini in my trunk just in case. I truly want women to feel confident wearing Lexaswim, in and out of the water, just as I do.

Lexaswim is a female-owned luxury swimwear brand proudly produced in Los Angeles, California. Lexaswim features original prints hand-illustrated in house and fabrics made in Brazil using sustainable materials.

Lexaswim is thoughtfully designed for real women. Growing up in Southern California, founder and designer, Alexa Dodson, felt passionately about swimwear and surf culture but struggled to find bikinis that fit appropriately. Lexaswim strives to reach more bodies with our versatile styles and hopes to inspire women to feel confident in and out of the water.

Lexaswim is heavily influenced by the nature found in Alexa’s LA neighborhood, her experiences living and traveling abroad, and West Coast surf culture. This aesthetic translates to her one-of-a-kind nature based prints.
